Identity Is Formed in Relationship
Our understanding of who we are is influenced by family, culture, community, race, gender, religion, migration experiences, and societal expectations.
For some, identity confusion or self-doubt develops after experiences of discrimination, marginalization, or chronic invalidation. For others, it develops in environments where emotional needs were minimized or where love felt conditional.
At Catharsis Psychology and Psychotherapy, identity work recognizes that self-esteem does not exist in isolation from context.
We are particularly committed to supporting:
- Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) individuals
- Immigrant and refugee communities
- LGBTQ+ individuals
- Women and gender-diverse clients
- First-generation professionals navigating dual identities
Therapy allows you to explore who you are beyond expectations that may have shaped you.
